    Roy,
If you choose to pimp your ride by adding a continental kit, mud flaps and an 8 track tape deck that's your perogitive. However the majority here subscribe to the NCRS philosopy of Restoration and preservation which is why MOST questions on this board deal with those subjects. I think your beating a dead horse here, maybe George Barris or Honest Charlie have web sites.

I never thought of (she) our Corvette as a Horr ( thanks for your opinion) I have given up asking this question from NCRS members. I would never think of your 62 or 67 Duntov's Corvettes of being Horr's weather they were %100 original or "NOT".
You've owned 50 Corvettes nice. I wish all the best to you too. Merry Xmas

Re: To every one your opinion please

                Roy,

I tend to agree with Rich Mozzetta #13499 post and what he said about your posts. Some accessories are certainly period Chevrolet pieces but may bot necessarily be applicable to Corvettes. However, I like to see your accessories and especially appreciate your knowledge and posts regarding solid axle cars.

When it comes to judging cars with accessories entered in NCRS meets, we should abide by the NCRS rules. If accessories can be removed without damage to the car prior to judging, that's great and no deduction should occur. If not, then whatever damage to the car must be taken into account in deducting points similar to removing a luggage carrier and the holes it leaves. If the owner of an accessorized car weighs the point deductions against the extra points available for "safety" items suggested (NCRS decal, fire extinguisher & battery disconnect) and driving points, equalization or better may occur. I have always thought of those points as outweighing repro tires, etc.

Anyway, I hope you feel better about posting your accessories. Also, please keep tose posts regarding solid axle cars comming ... they're educational. I only met you once at Old Town 2007 and hope to see you at many more meets.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year

Roy, having seen your car on more than once, I can say that the accessories you have put on it are OK by me. Yeah, they may not have been on the car when it rolled out of the factory, but they are true to the period, things that someone might have added in the mid to late 50's to jazz up a stock vehicle. Some purists might cringe, but the gadgets are fun and reflect the times. Do what you want.I never planned on having my car judged because I never wanted the hassle of someone turning their nose up at my car because it is not 100% correct. My '55 is a driver and is as true to what it could be without spending more than I could ever recoup on a perfect restoration. If someone wants to stick their head under my hood and see if my 265 V8 has correct numbers and gripes when they see if it does not, they can pony up the cash to buy me the right motor or shut up... If someone wants a car back to complete original, they can buy one and do it themselves. It's your ride, enjoy it.

Though I support the originality that the NCRS promotes, it is not all that important to my enjoyment of the car. After all, if we were that serious about it, we would turn our noses up at the historic race cars, that did not leave the factory as they were raced. I enjoy seeing the period correct items that could be added to the car at the time it was in production. Keep them coming. You have any more pictures of wind wings? Trailer hitches? My '62 will have both so I can take my old motorcycles to shows with it.

                          Hear hear !

How many cars are sitting in garages in various stages of disrepair because the poor owner has been brow beaten by the fact that the head markings on the bell housing bolts are wrong? Paralysis by analysis !

                            Roy,

I was at the '05 National meet and enjoyed looking at your 55. I drove my 1964 convertible on the road tour from Nebraska en route to getting my car evaluated for a Founders Award which I received. I also own a mostly unrestored Glen Green 1965 coupe with a dealer installed luggage rack. The car has been in my family since 1975 and when the car was repainted in 1978 we chose to keep the luggage rack on the car since I've only seen one other 63-67 Corvette coupe with a luggage rack. I'm currently getting the car ready to drive to St. Louis next July for the National meet and have thought about removing the rack, but since the point deduct for body and paint won't be too bad and I'll never be able to hide the body repair where it attaches, it's staying on the car for as long as I own it.

I like you also endorse the use of some GM/dealer and aftermarket Corvette accessories. About 18 years ago my father and I came up with the idea of making a cover to protect the outer aluminum 1965-1967 Corvette side mount exhaust covers from stone damage. One thing led to another and we came up with the clear plastic side mount exhaust shield/covers that I advertise in the NCRS Drive Line Magazine. I see this as an accessory that serves a purpose for those who drive their Corvettes on a regular basis. To this day I would have never thought that they'd be as popular as they are which makes me glad that we made the investment to produce them.

                            Best Regards and Merry Christmas,

                            James West

Now that acessory could be real handy. My 67 L79 (Non-A.O. Smith body), Has factory sidepipes. We live in middle of ranching country in SW mnts of Colo. Takes us apx 4-5 miles of dirt rd to reach asphalt. God knows there are stones and elk to dodge. I'll be sure to look up your company. These accessories are most appreciated to us drivers out there.
