    1967 Bolt On Wheel / Jacking

    When, in 1967, you ordered the optional Bolt On wheels for your Corvette they were fitted with 13/16" lugnuts.
    The jack was designed to use the standard 3/4" lugnut wrench.
    How did GM facilitate both, jacking and wheel removal?
    Did they;
    1. include two wrenches,
    2. a jack with 13/16" drive nut
    3. or, possibly a double socket wrench incorporating both 3/4" and 13/16" drives?

    I have never seen or read any information that would indicate the two latter were ever produced but don't think even the general would pretend this situation didn't exist.
    Respectfully curious

      I remember discussing the repos, and the necessity to carry extra tools and lug nuts if your spare is a steel wheel like mine is. I don't remember what the configuration of the original wheels was. Did John enlighten you?

        Evident;u Several Missed This

        Ed:
        here is Johns kind response:

        There was a thread on this a couple of months ago, and the consensus was that the General ignored the lug nut size difference, as several owners of allegedly original B/O cars noted that they carried their own wrench, as the one that came with the car wouldn't fit the lug nuts.

          Thanks, Jerry. It may have been the same discussion, or perhaps in a previous one, but I reported that on my BO's the nuts had to be opriented so the the flat of the nuts was pointed toward the retainer. If the point of the nut is pointed toward the retainer, the clip on the center "starburst" becomes wedged and cannot be removed without breaking the clip. I had assumed that the original wheels perhaps used a 3/4" nut head and that the dimensional difference would preclude this interference. Then again, maybe I'm the only one with this problem.
