Re: 1954 Two-Seater Buick F88
Mike, the second one is a PONTIAC.
It's hard for me to beleive that GM hasn't jumped all over the Pontiac, and I think 2 others, that came to "life" a few years ago. These show vehicles were to be SCRAPPED and were sent to a junkyard near the GMTC. The owner, scrapped them alright, he dug a hole on the back 40 and put them in it, for safe keeping----yeah, right!
Enough said, but it's my opinion that GM actually still may have legal rights to them.

Re: 1954 Two-Seater Buick F88
I talked to someone just last week that told me the F88 show car was built without functioning doors..but when the car was restored functioning doors were added. It is my understanding the car today has a 54 Corvette VIN tag.
Another friend and car collector owned one of the Pontiac Bonnevile showcars...in you second picture.
Not sure how many of the F88 and Pontiac showcars were built.

Re: 1954 Two-Seater Buick F88
Art, I think I read that someone owns two of the three pontiacs (auction for one was 2.8 mil) and I think the Olds (not buick) sold at auction for around 3 mil + ? Just seemed that several things copied from Corvette and the Olds front fenders/headlights remind me of the 56-57 corvette.- Top
