I want to remove the cover to the parking brake in my 67. I don't want to damage the plastic slider. Do I have to remove the handle and risk breaking it to get the cover off? If so, any tips on the handle? Thanks for the help!

Re: Parking Brake Cover
The cover for the parking brake on my 68 and 70 has a hidden attachment. Since your 67's parking brake is like the 68's it may have the hidden bolt as well. To remove the hidden bolt on my 68 or 70 I have sit on the door sill of the passenger side, push the seat back forward, open the jack storage compartment, remove the storage compartment unit which sits above the jack. Through the jack compartment and going towards the other side ise your left to hand reach over to the area that is behind the parking brake cover and find the 3/8 or 7/16 bolt head. The bolt screws into a steel brace that is enclosed in the parking brake cover. Remove the bolt. If it is like my 68's and 70's, you will see that it is a shoulder type bolt, not like just any bolt. Then remove the side screws on the parking brake cover and it is ready to be removed.- Top

Re: Parking Brake Cover
Steve,
After following Jim's excellent advice, the plastic slider, as you call it, will
simply slide out the end of it's retainer. No damage. No need to remove handle. The slider has a slit and will come right off.- Top
