What is best caulk to seal the cover? What are folks using?

Factory used something like dum-dum. I have used a dense cell foam tape with success. It makes it a lot easier to remove and replace.

3M Strip Caulk.

C1 gas tank cover

I bought it from Corvette Central. It is 10 1' strips for $5.20. Probably the same stuff as 3M strip caulk. I like Wayne's idea of foam tape.
