So I bought this original paint 62 fuelie several years ago and got a TON of paperwork with it. It was one owner before the seller, who bought it specifically for resale got involved. It had a copy of the original check where the first owner (now deceased) bought it, dealer order papers and sheet showing all options. I'm absolutely certain all this paperwork was original and not some repop, but it's packed away somewhere after a move and I can't lay my hands on it.
Anyway, the thing showed the fuelie, 4.56 gears and big brakes. With the exception of the exhaust manifolds and ALL big brake components the car is complete, and I'm FINALLY fixin' to start on it. A member came through on his way back from Daytona and we were discussing some of the components, especially the missing ones. The car is rolling ONLY with spindles and hubs, and I can't find any signs of big brakes. I was thinking that I remembered from my research when I bought it that 62's don't have the same duct work for big brakes that some of the earlier straight axles do. Also, this car had big hubcaps (assume original) and wheels with nubs for the big hubcaps. Would the 62 big brake cars necessarily have the 5 1/2" wheels and dog dish caps? Where are the signs of the big brakes on a '62?
Again, from condition and history I'm sure this car is unmolested and paperwork authentic, with THE original drivetrain including injector, engine, trans, & rear, but wheels and hubcaps could've gotten away with all of the brake stuff, which I guess somebody boosted and sold before the car itself.
