    C1 Car with Powerglide

I have been looking at the numbers on my block trying to figure out what the original manifold and carburators would be on my car, The block stamp on the passenger side indicates F922CT a 283 245 hp 2x4bc Man. My car has a powerglide in it. My question is, would this make a difference in the intake manifold I would be looking for? I want to return the car to original, would I look for the intake with the numbers 3739653? or a different intake?

you need the 3739653 intake regardless of tranny. btw, with ct suffix, you'll need to be looking for a std shift tranny(3 or 4 speed will work with the ct suffix).mike

Regardless of transmission, your car would use the GM #3739653 intake manifold. All CT-suffix code engines would have used that manifold.

Yes, I missed that. This car must have had the transmission converted at some point.

Susan, are you sure the engine is original? Could be the powerglide is original and the engine has been replaced. Just my 2c worth

HI Thanks for the input, How would I find out if the motor was original since the block and heads are correct for this year? Block Casting 3756519 The person I purchased the car from never replaced the block, she left it as it was when she bought the car from the original owner.

Check the casting date. Your engine was assembled on Sept 22 of some year. In order for the block to be original that year would have to be 1958 so the last digit of the casting date would have to be 8. Have you checked the birthday calendar to see when your car was built?

Hi Richard, Would that be the F922CT on the passenger side of the block? Does this number give the casting date?
