    GM part number for 40770

    Joe

Could you tell me when the AC fuel pump 40770 was discontinued? And what year that was, also if you know did the last ones that had the AC in them. And the GM part number for them. thanks

    Kelly----

The 40770 is not discontinued, unless it's occurred within the last several weeks; I show it's still available from GM under GM #6470309. Also available through Delco dealers for a lot less under AC 40770.

The ones manufactured for about the last 20 years have not had the AC logo on them. That stopped about the time AC ceased manufacturing them (and, all other mechanical fuel pumps) in the mid 80's. Since then, all have been manufactured by non GM or Delco manufacturing sources and have been "shorn" of the AC logo. For awhile after the manufacturing change, they continued to have AC numbers stamped on the flange, but later that was changed to laser printing on the sides of the pump OR non "AC-like" numbers stamped at a different location on the flange.
