I'll have to check into this using "empirical" methods. Over the years, I have purchased a lot of NOS examples of Corvette alternator fans and/or fan/pulley assemblies. It seems to me that at least one of them was "green". I don't recall if it was a zinc-chromate sort of green, but, as I recall, it was "green".

Joe,

Looking at the alternator fan more closely, the color is a dark olive drab/black. I think it is black oxide which is an acceptable finish according to the JM.

Dave - I suggest, if you haven't, to check with John. I'm quite sure he will be able to advise you on the process and color of the pulley. Our eyes perceive colors uniquely, just look at all the red Corvettes, pick any year, when they are lined up. How many different "original" reds or any other color that are supposed to be identical do you want. Pete
