    Photo's by Bob Hegge

    John DeGregory
I met Bob Hegge when he photograghed my '75 Hatch Back in 1976. We were on the ISCA circuit. Bob's 2 love's were photographing Hot Rod's, modle trains and writing How-to Articles. Some of his work is in the Smithsonion.
Bob passed away 10 or 12 years ago. We lived close to each other and I use to drive him to his photo shoots. He taught me what I know about pphotography.

Nice shots, who made that hatch back? Was it Ecklars?

It was the first hatch back sold by Ecklers, it was also there GT tilt frontend. The car was a 1300 mile roleover.

Hi Bill, Beautiful photo. You were most fortunate to have my old friend Bob as your mentor. Yes you learned from probably one of the finest this hobby will ever see. I traveled the ISCA cirucit in the mid 60's to the early 70's.Forget the exact years. Bob was at every meet no matter which city. A real professional and a real gentleman. He could capture shots of a car that others would just dream of. Yes he loved the hot rods and custom cars big time. The days of the Munster coach era were his prime time. Any Hollywood car you can name or any big time Hot Rod photo credits were typically Bob Hegge. Course you know all that.
Love the chrome engine. Today an engine like that would be as much as a new car. In the olden days we chromed things guys wouldn't even imagine dipping today. Course most of the cars didn't run for crap. Fake blowers were the norm with a two barrel inside them. But they sure looked pretty and attracted the crowd. Thanks very much, John D
