Is there a special spring compressor to replace the front springs on a 67 convertible with air? It seems like a straight forward job. My side fenders are about 24" from the ground and I was told they should be 26.5". I initiated a hard left hand turn, hit a bump and the driver side tire ate into my fender wall. I wnat to replace the springs and then I'll fix the fenderwall. It's all good!

Re: 67 FRONT SPRINGS REPLACEMENT
I'm not sure about your springs but you might want to check your tire size also. Anything bigger than 205 75 will hit the wheel opening on hard cornering and hitting a bump. Alot of people are ridding on 225 75 tires which will hit the wheel openings on hard turns.- Top

Re: 67 FRONT SPRINGS REPLACEMENT
I found that an external spring compressor would not do the job. Not enough room. I fashioned an internal compressor and used the shock tower hole to pull against. It worked.
No matter what you use make SURE the equipment is designed for the forces involved. The compressed spring contains a lot of forces......and can be very dangerous.- Top
