Could someone give me the necessary dimensions to fabricate rebound straps? I have some material that is nearly identical in size and appearance to the original, but I'm not sure exactly how long the straps are supposed to be. Thanks in advance.

I have always read the the straps are 29 1/2 inches long on a 62 Corvettee.

Ed-Measuring a set of repop straps: 29 1/4" long; 1 1/2" wide; 3/16" thick. Rivet holes approx 1/8" dia along the centerline of the strap, four in line on each end. Locations from the ends of the strap: 1/2"; 1 1/4"; 4 3/8""; and 5 1/8". There is also a good Restorer article on strap installation, along with a design for a home-made rivet bucking tool. Original dimensions
I removed one of the pieces of the old strap, and out of curosity measured it. It is very close to 1-3/8" wide vs the 1-1/2" of the repo. Thickness is pretty close to 3/16. Actually measures about .21", but it might have been a bit different 40+ years ago.Comment
