    c1 carburetor

is there any difference in "size, style, shape, parts height" anything, between a 57 wcfb carb. that would have been on single four barrel vette and a 57 chevy, thanks

    Yes and no...

The base '57 Corvette used a Carter 2366 (early) or 2655 (late) WCFB 4-Bbl. So, did 'equivalent' engined Chevy cars/trucks. BUT, it's pretty rare to find an original carb from that era that has NOT seen an overhaul at least once in its life!

This means you can't trust the factory original Carter ID tag to still be present nor can you trust prior 'Bubba' mechanics not to have substituted some of the factory original component parts during the prior life of the carb for one reason or another.

So, you need to read + understand the key component description of the carb in your copy of the judging guide (casting numbers, Etc.) and visually confirm the current composition of any carb 'core' that you plan to buy BEFORE you lay down $$$ for it.

        Paul,

See the photo link below to a page from my 29-59 parts book. It shows there are different parts #'s for the WCFBs on 57 Pass vs Corvette. Not sure the diffs, but they likely could be major things like choke location, body casting #'s, etc. I know the 57(late) 2655S used the following castings as I had one on my 59 rear dual 4bc but sold it when I got the correct one.

These are the #'s that were on my 2655S.....
        Top Cover: 6-1271
        Main Body: 0-1108
        Throttle Body: 1-1386
Note TB# cannot be seen unless removed from main body. You may be able to get a paper trace, between body & base, at throttle lever side. You may see stamped #'s on the manifold side of the base but don't confuse this with the casting # of the base. I think that ws just a sequence or internal # when Carter assembled them.
