ran fine, now way too rich/flooding?

This is a '60, NOM 350. After getting all my other issues ironed out, I had two days of the car running better than it ever has, and probably as good as I can ask it to. Then yesterday when starting it, it idled fine for a couple of minutes, then before it got to operating temp, it started stumbling, the revs decreased, and it was smoking from the exhaust pretty good.

I removed the air filter, and after I turned it off, noticed a large amount of gas dripping down into the throats of the front two barrels which I didn't see while it was still running (Edelbrock 1406, electric choke). The choke appears to have opened normally, and If I turn the idle mixture screws clockwise, the revs increase until the screws are seated, exactly the opposite of expected behavior during normal operation, right? What gives?

I would check your fuel pump pressure, and make sure the needle and seat are sealing properly at the correct level. Good luck, I had a 66 recently that had a fuel pump producing 10 psi and making a huge mess on the intake manifold.

That was it. I took the airhorn off, made sure the floats and needles were moving OK, and gently blew everything off/out, and it started working normally again. Thanks.

I was going to suggest the needle seats being loose because that happened to my 1406 with elegtric choke. BTW, fuse the elect choke line, I had mine short out and ALMOST burn the car down. Luclily it only cost me an ingnition harnes and a near stroke.
