Electronic Ignition

Hi all.

I'm thinking about putting electronic ignition in my 62 vette. What is the best and easiest product out there that any of you may have used? And where can I get it? I would like to be able to revert back to points if I needed to if it failed on me.

Breakerless SE sold by Lectric Limited. Easiest, best, but not the cheapest. BONUS..........it is undetectable during judging.

John, Wild Bill in Mass. has the best prices for Breakerless SE ignition. He advertises in the Driveline. It's very easy to convert back and forth. I carry my points with me in case of a failure. No extra wire that is visable. My 62 loves it! Regards, Jon

Has anyone used the one from M&H? Is it the same as the once from LL?

The truth...

M&H is the inventor, patent holder, and exclusive manufacturer of the Breakerless SE ignition module. Lectric Limited is an arms-length OEM/warehouse distributor of the part for M&H (along with others) who buys in bulk and has their version of the part brand labeled/repackaged to distinguish it. But, it's the SAME item regardless of source.

The one on my '71 came from the first production run and it's still working fine after umpteen years and roughly 50K miles. I have GREAT faith in this product (we've used both Mallory and Pertronix systems at our shop with 'some' fall out, but never had a Breakerless go south)...

I took two with me to Europe last summer. One went in Rob Musquetier's '69 BB and we drove from Amsterdam to LeMans and back WITHOUT carrying backup parts. The other went into a '60 Covette entered in the LeMans Classic for on-track competition. Yep, the system works and works well...
