Re: Date code for '67 surge tank?

It seems there are several of you guys, including a separate e-mail I received, that think I shouldn't have a surge tank on my 390 HP 427 engine. That would explain why it wasn't on my car! I thought one was supposed to be on it because I can see the mounting holes near the battery. I personally don't know which is why I'm asking for your advice.

In the "Corvette Restoration Book" it shows a date code of 66G but is that only for small blocks?

      Re: Yes

All innerfenders except 63 have the mounting holes. BB cars which did not have the surge tank, had the holes filled. This was done by poking a little puddy through the holes from the wheel side of the innerfender. You will see the puddy squeezed out the other side.
