Broken C3 Body Mount Cage Nut. Now What?

I am in the process of lifting the body from my 1970 Convertible.

As I attempted to remove the right rear body mount bolt, the cage nut gave way and is now spinning freely.

What are the recomendations in removing the bolt now, and also repairing it for reassembly when the body goes back on?

    Details would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance for your help.

You can cut the bolt with a reciprocating saw (Sawzall). Once you get the body off you can remove the bracket and install a new nut. I believe that they are available from several vendors including Doc Rebuild and Vette Products of Michigan.

You can grind the head off with a die grinder. With the body off you can remove the stud with heat and save the cage and nut if they are not broken.
