I'm only curious at this time. In the future I will restore my 60. Has anyone tried this 350 Ramjet crate engine from GM? It is rated at only 350HP. What transmissions will mate up to her? The appearance is very nostalgic. The original powertrain is long long gone from this car. Another option is to use only the FI unit ($1900.00) only and use it on the 67 Camaro 350 that came eith the 60. Will that work? That engine looks very tall. If I keep my orignal frame and suspension will that engine fit under my Hood? How can one be sure of the fit? Thanks DG

Re: GM's new Ramjet 350??
A few years ago I put a Ramjet 350 in a 62 Corvette. It is to tall to fit but by t******* half the thickness off the bottom rubber engine mount it almost fits. I ended up t******* the hood cross brace and it fit fine.
The Ramjet is one of the few crate engines which comes with a standard shift flywheel. I used a Borg Warner T10 transmission and it worked fine.
As far as just buying the FI unit, don't forget you will also need the computer and various sensors to make it function properly.
I drove the car for 9000 miles before I sold it and it was a pleasure. Another bonus was that it got 22 to 24 miles per gallon.
If you buy the engine , be sure you get the most recent one with the MEFI 4 computer, it's more efficient then the MEFI 3.
Email me and I can send pictures.

If you want a modern EFI with a nostalgic look I suggest this unit from Arizona Speed and Marine. It has a slopped nose and fits under a Corvette hood. It also has a side mounted air meter like the Rochester.
