Wood Console Inserts

I'm in the process of completing my '73 project, and ordered the woodgrain console insert from Ecklers. What I received was a synthetic insert with a woodgrain pattern.

Are there any actual wood inserts available from anywere that are similar to the originals? I looked at some of the other vendors, but they all seem to be the same.

To my knowledge, nobody makes correct/original accents from real wood...

Using the metal back from an original people have made one for their own car with good results. They found the thin wood and glued it to the metal and cut it out with a sharp hobby knife. They may have stained it also.
