    Cosworth Vega

Hello, I apologize for posting about a Cosworth Vega here. I was directed here from another site. They mentioned that a person that is a member here by the name of Duke Williams owns a Cosworth Vega and is very knowledgable about these cars. I am going to look at one that is a low mileage all original paint and drivetrain car. I need to ask what to look for and what they are worth.

    Thanks in advance

Also you might want to read an article in Hemmings Muscle Machines magazine. Very good article on Duke Williams Cosworth/Vega out last month I believe.

Article on Disappointing Collector Car Values

And the Cosworth Vega is one discussed, along with Corvettes and others that were thought AT THE TIME to be investment grade.

Good point! Not all of us are in it for the money. Modest prices for "collector cars that fizzled" means parts prices are reasonable as is collector car insurance, and most of use didn't buy these cars either new or used to make a buck. Few cars are "investments" when you take into account, storage, insurance, maintenance, and repair.

I guess my '88 190E 2.6 (with an extremely rare 5-speed manual transmission that was only available on special order) or '91 MR2 will never be "collectible" either, but I still enjoy driving them, which is what counts for me.

And the article in Hemmings Muscle Machines summarizes the fun I had with my Cosworth Vega over the years with little more than normal maintenance.

How much is blowing off Ferraris and Porsches on race tracks worth? Priceless!
