    Cordless grease gun

After struggling to grease several cars in the stable I felt that there must be an easier way, especially with stubborn joints. I used a long flexible hose and an extension on the grease gun handle, but the body mechanics were not always simple. Has anyone used a battery powered grease gun. I have looked at a Alemite 575 which has a 14.4 volt battery and can push out grease at 10,000 pounds. The price at $229.95 is somewhat shocking. Has anyone used this or similar grease guns?

If you have an air compressor you can get an air grease gun for a lot less money. They use very little air so a small air compressor will supply enough air for a grease gun.

Bill ---- My fater-in-law gave me a grease gun, probably 30 years ago, that he had for many many years. It is a manual pump gun that must be made of stainless steel and, I'll bet you can pump enough pressure to force grease into just about any joint. I appologize for not being able to locate a manufacturer's logo, name or any number on the unit, however, I think Sears has them for a reasonable cost.

worked at a chevron station late 60's---the grease gun there would shoot grease 40' easy---early paint ball fun---if one could find a gun from that era you would have a winner for sure---phil

I have a Lincoln battery powered gun and love it. When I had the farm and all the equipment some weeks I would use 2-4 tubes of grease, especially when cutting silage. The Lincoln made taking care of my equipment quite a bit easier.
