    Re: blank profile

    John,

I see your profile just fine. Click on your name that is highlighted in the message header. Your profile will pop up in a new screen. You should be able to edit it too if the need arises, by clicking on the menu item "Edit Your Profile" just under the Frames, No-Frames Link. Top of the top window. You may not be able to edit your profile until your cookies take effect. This may take anywhere from 20 minutes to a day depending on the complexities of the Cosmos.

      Re: Water Pump Dates

water pump casting numbers and those that came from the factory with dates (I believe starting in late 1964 and up) are checked at NCRS meets, also the fittings, hose clamps, and hoses.

        Depends....

In some Corvette Divisions (year specific), the Judging Guides specifically PROHIBIT attempting to read/judge the cast date on water pumps (early Shark cars are an example). In other Divisions, the JG remains silent on the issue making it a personal call of the attending judges.

In the area where a given pump began life without casting date and later obtained casting date(s), judging the presense/absense of a date code may make sense.... But, I'll personally agree with the Shark Division rationale -- it's REAL hard to verify with precision the pump body's cast date when it's installed on the car and the pulley/belt system is installed!
