    66 427 Radiator

I've observed the square openings on the top plate and noticed that some BB radiators also have round holes near the square openings. An old core that I have only has the square holes on the top or bottom. I ordered a repro
core and now noticed that one side has the round holes and the other side doesn't. Whats what? Raymond G.

The holes were add during mid production in 66. According to the JG, early cars through approximately vin 19000 had a large rectangle cut out followed by a smaller square cut out on the top flange. After this the two holes were added. The JG makes no mention it the bottom flange followed with the same changes. What flange side are the holes on?

I know Dewitt's makes a excellent reproduction of both style flanges.

      Thanx John,
The core from Paragon comes w/o the tanks so one can flip flop it to his liking.
I'm sure its made with the round holes on one side only to fit all 66-67's.
My car is 18,929 so its right on the cusp and I suspect it came w/o the round holes because the radiator that was in it has no round holes on either side.
