If AC Delco is out of the filter business and just repackaging other manufactures parts, then who is making the Air filters for them, like the A329C?

I don't know about that. I've yet to "autopsy" a recent-vintage AC oil filter that had internal construction that was typical of WIX filters. Of course, it's possible that WIX is making the filters for GM to some GM specification and not like their own filters. I doubt it, though. The WIX internal construction is similar to the AC filters of old.

The recent vintage AC filters that I've "dissected" appear to have internal construction very similar to that customarily used by Champion Laboratories, a filter manufacturer that does a lot of "private label" branding. Their own brand includes "Champ" filters and, I believe, some others, too.

Some of the current AC filter models seem to have an internal construction very much like the old AC filters, but I think that these are either old stock or, possibly, some of the filter models are still being manufactured by DELPHI as the "phasing out" process proceeds to completion.
