    C3-front grill paint

I want to repaint my front grills on my 71. Does anyone know the exact color and/or product I can/should use?

    Thanks!

    Re: C3-front grill paint

Last time I posted this information here someone on another well-known forum posted my exact words over there without attribution to either me or this forum. Even in the wild west of the Internet, that is IMO over-the-top. Unfortunately, the only thing I can do about that is to not post that information again.

Terry means...He's madder'n hell about this topic, and he ain't gonna answer this question anymore! (Yuk, yuk...Only kidding you, Greg.)

Actually, this question has been asked at least three, maybe four times that I know. In fact, it was the first question I ever posted on this board. It had already been answered once at that time...I should have looked it up in the archives, but I didn't know jack about using the archives then.

That time, and every time, Terry has helped the poster with an answer to this question. I don't know the DuPont formula number off the top of my head, or I would give you the answer directly, but I know it's in the archives at least three times...that's where I'll go if I need it again.

              The Point Here Is...

Neither Greg or I know the answer. But, unlike Greg, I KNOW the answer is in the "archaic archives" multiple times and simply has to be found.

Now, one of us (Greg or myself) is going to have to look this up. Since, in my opinion, all of us should learn how to use the archives, I am disinclined to do this for him. I consider simply knowing the answer to be there valuable information, and in Greg's position I would be happy to learn this. If that is not the case, then I apologize to Greg for my non-contribution. Also, Greg, if it sounded like I was scolding you, that was not the intent and I regret that the post could be interpreted that way.

Using the archives is not rocket science, and effective technique can be learned...I'm living proof. It is not fool-proof...sometimes you just don't get what you want, but most of the time I get good results. Sometimes, I think that people complaining about the archives aren't paying attention...I've personally explained my method of archive reseach about three times. Maybe you consider such instruction insulting.

Eric, in the future, if a question just lays there with zero response, you can figure it either means that nobody knows the answer, or alternately, "I know where the answer is, but I ain't doing your research for you, and I'm not going to be lectured for saying where".

                A point of clarification

Perhaps it is guilt, but I suspect Eric was referring to my response -- or rather my non-response. In retrospect I could have, and perhaps should have, kept my anger to myself. My issues are certainly not with Greg -- he simply innocently pushed one of my hot-buttons.

Chuck you know me too well. Thanks for your interpretation.

                    Didn't Have To Be...

Nostradumbass, or even know you well, to figure that one out, but I did read your previous post about this case of tacky plagiarism. (LOL!)

                          Greg...If You're Still With Us...

The following response obtained by entering "front grille paint", with "all terms" selected from the drop down menu, archives from April 12, 2005 through December 21, 2006:

(Are you paying attention, Eric?...You better be, because this is the last time I'm doing this. And, trust me...using some kind of spray gray from Home Depot is at best a lame compromise...THIS is the REAL DEAL! )
