What is the GM part number? The number you are quoting is a service number.

        Steve-----

There were quite a few applications for these regulators. However, none were used for Corvette.

The applications are GENERALLY as follows:

The D-617, aka GM #1119000, was used for some 1955-57 Chevrolet passenger car and truck applications. It was also used for some 1955-57 Pontiac passenger car applications.

The D-623, aka GM #1119600, was used for some 1958 Buick applications as well as some 58-62 Oldsmobile and Pontiac applications.

          Joe,
Thanks for your reply, ....... I am looking for the correct Voltage Regulator for a 1960 FI.
          Thanks,
          Steve

For that application, a D-618, aka GM #1119003, is the correct regulator. Keep in mind that while any such regulator will be functionally correct for your application, I believe that there were "nuance" differences between examples of this regulator over the years of its manufacture.

The current JG calls for 1119001 for all cars except SHP FI, 290 HP, which is said to be a 1119002 regulator. Of course, judges verify the date codes stamped adjacent to the part number which means 'correct' is both the PN and date code on the regulator.

                Jack and Steve-----

Apparently, GM #1119002 is the correct GM part number for 1960 with 290 hp. I do have a reference that the number was 1119003. I tried determining if the 1119003 was supercessive to the 1119002, but it's not. Once-upon-a-time, though, 1119003 was the cataloged Delco parts system piece for the 1960 Corvette application.

The judging guide calls for the 001 voltage regulator for ALL 1960 Corvette applications. It says the 002 MAY have been used for the 290HP FI engine. I have always understood the 003 to be a service part. Most 003s I've seen have the E suffix which wasn't used until 1962. That would generally place them in the service part category since those type voltage regulators weren't used much after that date. The 003 is a 30 amp voltage regulator which would make it an acceptable replacement for Corvette applications. But then, I've been wrong before.
