One steering arm on my 63 is not secured to the steering knuckle with the right length bolts; they are too short and do not clear the nuts by 2 threads. Could someone knowledgeable define these bolts for me so that I can prep for replacement prior to the teardown ... size, thread, and length? LICS has no diagram or the parts, and my 1981 Corvette Part Book does not show this 63-64 area (great source for sizing). I presume Paragon Vintage is a good source for the bolts once I know what I need. Thanks bunch.

From what I can find, the shorter of the two bolts was originally GM #3748370. This was a bolt of 7/16-20 thread size and 1-31/32" length. It was of GM 300M material (i.e SAE grade . I'm not 100% sure of the finish but I believe that it was either black oxide or black phosphate.
The longer of the two bolts was GM #3748401. This was a bolt of 7/16-20 thread size and 2-15/16" length. It was also of GM 300M material and I believe it was finished as described above.
By the way, the nuts used were a distorted thread lock nut of GM #9422300. These were of, of course, of 7/16-20 thread size. They were cadmium or zinc finished and of GM 301M material grade. They may or may not be still available from GM.In Appreciation of John Hinckley- Top
