When I acquired my 1962, it did not have the type of bandings that are sold as reproductions today, so I'm a little unsure as to how exactly to fasten the bands around the leaf spring. Can anyone who has experience or know-how, provide a simple explanation as to the proper procedures for installing the bands. No instructions came with the kit I ordered from Paragon. Thanks for any assistance.

Re: C-1 leaf spring banding
Hi Larry
All I can tell you is there is a special bander for the old vettes. It makes the band square.None of the spring shops where I live can do them correct. Corvette Central I believe will rent the bander. The shop that painted my car, bought a correct bander and i'm going to have him reband mine when I rebuild my springs.
Good luck...John- Top

Re: C-1 leaf spring banding
I also purchased the banding kit from Paragon (I'm not impressed). The bands are not serrated, and the clips are twice as large as the originals, with no hole. The good news is that the rubber strips look correct.
Luckily, I pryed my originals apart when I took them off. As such, I intend to use the old bands and clips and the new rubber. It looks like I can just use a good set of needle nose vice grips to rebend the old clips to the old bands. I might add a bit of epoxy glue just in case.
