    C2-Crankcase Vent Tube Installation - 350

Is there a proper or should I say easy way to seat the crankcase vent tube in the block down to the seal? The tube is very thin metal. I thought I could pull it down with the bolt, but all that did was starting to cave in the top of the tube. Looking for help.

There is supposed to be a gasket between the vent tube and the block surface. I usually put some RTV sealant on the gasket to help it seal. You are correct that the vent tube will deform if you apply too much torque. There is also the risk of breaking the bolt, so go easy on the torque you apply.

As I recall there is a short steel collar on the bottom of the vent tube that indexes with the hole in the block. Make sure that it is not bent and that it fits properly before you add the gasket and sealer.
