C2 headlight bucket 1963

i am now stripping all the paint from my 63 swc for over a month now
and now stripping the paint off the headlight buckets

and there is a area of bondo on the sides on both buckets see picture

is this typical or should it not be there ?

Should be original, leave it there. Remember the 64 to 67 buskets were metal.

Yes .....agree with Harry ........it is correct............i
Its panel bond not bondo as in plastic filler used in repairs.
Its suppose to be there so leave it as you found it.rj

Is this a fairly late car? Like 14,000 or

more? I ask because of the side mounting for the headlight bezel.

I would also say yes, but that does not look quite the same as original 63 bonding material. It was more brown in color.

This is a question. I am stripping my head light buckets on my 66 and I notice on yours the pivit is welded to the bucket, I can also see where one of the holes that would be uesd for the screw that holds the pivit is filled with weld. This is nothing like the ones on my car. It it the year difference ?

63s are totally different. They are fiberglass with steel structure. Yours is metal die cast and has screwed on pivots.
