I believe GM #3884640 to be correct for 66-L79 with p/s. Is this correct and are there any replacement part numbers that will work. I am having a difficult time figuring out what brace from suppliers will work correctly. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

GM #3884640 is the correct brace for an L-79 with N-40 IF THE CAR ALSO HAS C-60. If it doesn't also have C-60, then the correct brace was GM #3868882.
The GM #3884640 was discontinued in December, 1971 and replaced by GM #3826928. That piece was available from GM until just a few years ago. So, there might be some of those around.
The GM #3868882 was discontinued without supercession in September, 1981.
I don't know if any of the above-referenced braces are reproduced.In Appreciation of John Hinckley
