    1959 ignition switch

I have a 1959 that I believe has a bad ignition switch. My quastion is how does the key switch separate from the ignition switch. I see the small hole on the crome key switch which I assume is the the way to separate the two. I just don"nt want to skrew it up if possible. Thanks Rick

You'll have to have the key in the switch. Through the small hole insert a straightened Gem clip. You'll be able to find the detent by feeling of it. If I remember right, you turn the key backwards. Don't force anything, just fiddle with it and you'll get the feel.

Best turn to the lock position, then insert the paper clip end into the hole, then turn counter clockwise...and the cylinder will release.
