C2-66 bolt head markings and finish

Is there a complete reference to the correct bolt head markings and finish used
on the complete assembly of the car? If so where can one get these?

Paragon has a good one. It was free at one time not sure if they still have it. The judging guide has some. The 53-72 chassis restoration guide. Nolands book.
These will cover most but not all. I found these books very helpfull. Mike

The Paragon chart is a nice one, but some of the entries are not correct for all the years claimed. Also, there were typically several suppliers for each bolt type, and the Paragon chart shows only one of the possible head markings.

The best is to document and take photo's of all the bolts that you remove from the car. Then you have to determine which are original and which have been replaced. It helped me a lot when I did my vette.

I like to think I done a pretty good job of bagging and labeling the bolts as they were removed from the car when I started the frame off restore, but unfortunately most of the bolts already had a finish I would call "Very Rusty" therefore determining originality impossible. The car began life in the North East and wasn't taken very good care of.

Eddie - If you send an email to tehlers@hess.com so I can get your email address, I'll forward the fastener documentation I developed for my '66. Like yours, mine was very rusty but original. You should probably use this data to supplement other research. It reflects the research I did with the help of many on this Discussion Board and using the sources mentioned previously. Tim
