    1965 Mirrors

Could someone explain the differences in the mirrors for 1965. I do not have the reverse lights on my car and I understand there are two types of mirrors for my car. My car has an 8 inch mirror with no day adjuster but it is made by Guide and has two rivits one on each side of the word. It is not what I would call satin rather polished stainless. Could someone post some pictures to show the differences in the mirrors? My car also does not have a date code on the glass.

    Thanks

    Re: 1965 Mirrors

There were two versions of the interior mirror. Both were manufactured by Guide. The base mirror was a standard reflection system while the optional mirror was of the Day/Nite variety meaning there was a lever on the bottom that actuated the glass to tilt inside the mirror frame and provide less reflection (a dimmed view).

The optional Day/Night mirror was part of the Z01, Comfort and Convenience, option in 1965. That same mirror was available as a dealer option in 1964. It became a standard item on Covette in 1966. The Paragon catalog has nice pictures if you don't know how to visually ID the two mirrors...
