C2 Starter Wiring - 66

Can someone tell me if any type of lock or star washer is used on the negative battery connection at the starter mounting bolt. The 2-3 pictures that I see in the AIM don't show any,but everywhere else in the wire harness that needs a good ground connection uses a star washer. Is this another one of those items where it is not documented , but always done.

Bob -

There's an external-tooth star washer shown between the battery cable and the starter in UPC 12, Sheet A9, View "B", but there's no part number callout for it, and change #17 shows "washer drawing revised" on 3-1-66; the primary starter installation sheet (UPC 6, sheet B1) doesn't show any washer. The same sheets in the '67 A.I.M. show the star washer drawing removed from the UPC 12 sheet (A8) on 3-30-67, and no washer on the starter bolt in UPC 6.

I'd say it's an illustration error in the '66 A.I.M. that didn't get caught and corrected until mid-'67, and no washer was ever used.
