Point deduction for incorrect C2 carburetor date?

What could I expect to see as a point deduction for a later "service replacement" holley carburetor? The carb has correct part and list numbers as well as metering blocks, etc. and would be correct otherwise. Thanks, Steve

    Using the 5-factor system...

    Steve,

I've never judged mechanical before, but I'll take a stab at an answer. On C2s, there are 40 points for originality for the carburetor. Based on the 5-factor system (completeness, finish, date, configuration, installation), date alone would count for 8 points. So if all other aspects are correct and only the date is wrong, I'd say the deduct would be 8 points.

Re: Point deduction for incorrect C2 carburetor da

I can't speak to C2 score sheets (but you can download them from a link at the top of this page), but some score sheets have a specific line item for the carburetor date. It may be different than the 20% Gary mentioned.

Well the link for the score sheets moved from the top of this page -- trust me it used to be there.

I didn't see a seperate section specific to date, just the 40 points for originality as mentioned above. I could be wrong though.

As I said, I can't speak to the C2 score sheets. If you have looked at them you are way ahead of me. C3 sheets have a seperate date line for the carb, alternator, and some other items.

No separate lines for date on carb, alt, and distributor on C-2 sheets.

C3 vs C2 carb date deduct

C3s take a 12-point hit for an incorrect carb date; C2s take an 8-point hit. Why the difference? Beats me.
