The original owner of my 65/L78 took delivery of the car at the St. Louis Plant in mid-June. I have the original copy of the plant inspection form that had to be done before the owner could take delivery. The inspection was done and signed off by inspector Rex Graves, anyone out there know him? Thanks

Re: Plant Inspection
Tony, thanks for getting back to me - I also have the original letter sent by the plant to the dealer that wrote the order up - it details when the new owner could pick up the car and what he would have to bring with him to take delivery. When I have more time I will post his name. Once again, thanks for getting back to me. Ed.- Top

Re: Plant Inspection
Comparing the requirements in that letter to the current requirements for R8C (Museum Delivery) would make an interesting Restorer story Ed. Please consider it.

Re: Plant Inspection
Terry, never thought about it that way. Your right - the lack of fanfare back in the 60's is almost comical compared to the production it has become today. In reading the link you were kind enough to provide you sure do get a bang for your buck. My original owner paid his airfare to St. Louis from Wisc. and the only bonus he received was a discount of $23.00 which was the delivery charge to Wisc. at that time. Will start working on an article this week. Best wishes, Ed.- Top

Re: Plant Inspection
You can see how my luck runs. I don't enter those kinds of things because I would never win.
Saturday, in Effingham, Will Cooksey told me -- when I was moaning about how long the build was taking -- "We build no Corvette before its time."

Re: Plant Inspection
I was wondering if you had a target date yet.
I'm trying to be patient and not check on mine until next week. Supposedly everything is lining up correctly on GM's end - assuming the strike doesn't last too long.

It's TIME!
Wil made his first trip to visit Corvette customers in Europe last summer and, via GM France, gave us a cordial open mic talk at the Corvette Corral adjacent to the track at LeMans. His visit was so popular, he had to schedule a return visit that afternoon after the 24-Hour race got underway to complete answering the questions the crowd asked! He's a REAL gentleman...- Top
