    K66 ignition

my car will start and run fine but every so often it will just die. i know it is ignition but because it is intermittent i am looking for advice. it is a 66 L72 427. the amp is new and upgraded. the dist is fully rebuilt. it has a new lectric limited forward harness. the starter is new as well as the battery cable. once it started after i kept tapping the starter some times in gear. last night it did not help. if i let it sit it will start again. bill

Bill, I would start by checking the plug where the T I harness plugs into the ignition switch feed wire for power when the car quits. If you have power, check for proper ground at the core support. There is good info at Dave Feidler's T I website that may help with the problem.

Bill , I had a similar problem with my 67 L71 a while back. It never died but once it got warm it would not start until it cooled down. After checking everything else I finally replaced the coil which solved the problem. Good luck , Cliff

make sure the spot on the amp where the connection bolts has no paint. when i was still repairing TI systems i found that a bad ground at this point was a lot of the troubles.
