New member here with question about hot floorboards in my '69 L68 convertible. Do the thermal floor liners found online work to reduce heat in the footwells? Anyone have a suggestion on which ones or where to buy them? I assume it makes sense to replace the jute underpadding at the same time? Existing is a bit ratty and Bloomington Gold (perfection)is not a top objective here. Thks.

Re: Hot Foot in an L68
I've always found that the #1 source of hot feet is flow of air (hot air!) through the heater ducts. #2 source is missing or damaged grommets in the firewall
Relatively little heat actually transfers through the floorboards, padding and carpet.
Bloomington Gold? Wrong club I think- Top

Re: Hot Foot in an L68
Additionally to above comments... new jute will have some insulation properties over the "ratty" stuff.... probably not significant improvement.
Heat is a common problem with these cars......
Heater shutoff vent seals are probably gone allowing hot air flow from the heater.....- Top

Mike,
I respectfully disagree on heat transfer through the floorboards and transmission hump.
Until I got serious about high quality insulation mine got pretty hot on long drives.
One vendor advertises "ceramic" insulation. It is about 1/8" thick so will fit under other insulation you might use and it works.
