57 FI emblems

At what point in the assembly process were holes for FI emblems drilled in fenders and trunk lids?

Were templates used? Does anyone have a description or pictures of the process?

Not definitive..but check pages 144 and 145 of Nolands 53 - 62 book.

Of course. The question is, did they use the carburetor base as a template to drill the holes?

The pages show the front round emblem being installed with a full grill in place. I would suspect a fuel injected car would get that emblem at that same spot on the line.

I remember that photo. I would have thought they would install the front emblem before the grill was installed....much easier.
