How do I determine if the water pump on my 73 sb with AC is factory? Is there a casting # or date code on it? I have not found any 'dated' 73 water pumps advertised in the many catalogues I receive that would meet the NCRS test. Thanks - Joe 46306

Joe the date code and the casting number are covered up by the pulley and are hard to read when installed on the car. The casting number 330813 was used for 73 and many more years and they are dated like most castings. One thing you can see is a GM raised logo between the webs on the drivers side as I recall.Most 73's will have the pipe plug on the top boss but early 73's may not have the hole or plug.
