    I just got this 1961. The guy said,never painted, nearly original, (diff exhaust and tires)

    Now that I know there is a seam on the rear, it makes perfect sense because it is minimally noticable all the way around the back and panels to the doors. Can only see it in certain light. Nobody would tape there. My friend thought it might be decal removed, but I thought that was ridiculous for someone to put a decal like that on a vette.

    check out this site, I just started to post pictures. More to follow on this 24,000 mile original car.

    Take your copy of the AIM (Assembly Instruction Manual) and check out these two pages: Page A41, Sheet E 1.00 and Page A42, Sheet E 2.00. They show the bonding strips being applied to the back side of the rear clip's exterior surfaces which is where the individual body panels joined and were bonded together to form a complete rear clip assy....
