I was flushing out my radiator this afternoon and changed upper and lower hoses as well when this piece of thin metal come falling to the floor,, it came from around the crossmember area as i was un-screwing the plug on the radiator,, any ideas?? thanks doug

Well...If it's the retainer for some hydraulic component, like an end cover on the steering rack, you'll probably find out with certainty when you start it up, or soon thereafter.Comment

Hello Doug, Chuck Isaac here. The snap ring in your photo is from the air condition system. If my memory servers me right, it's the snap ring that holds the electric clutch coil for the air condition compressor. First you would have to remove the clutch assembly, then removed the pully, and then look insibe the center of the compressor, and you will see the snap ring. Someone might have serviced the AC compressor while it still was attached to the car.
