    C1 TH350

Can someone share some advice. What is the simplest shifter to fit in my 59 running with a newly fitted TH350 auto transmission. I would really prefer not to get involved with any (or too much) floor modifications.

    Thanks,

    Mark

I see no reason you cant use the original shifter //Mod. the rod and trans linkage

I believe some of the GM installations used a cable operated floor shifter with the T-350, one of those should fill the bill, one thing Summit might be good for...

If you do a search for a comapny called shiftworks, you will find that they make conversion kits to convert Powerglide shifters of many years to work with modern 3 and 4 speed automatics. I used one of their kits on my 65 with a 4L65E transmission. The big problem with C1 cars, is the shifter mounted to the trans and not the car, and the chances of getting the same mounting layout on a TH350, I would say is ver slim. I used a Lokar floor mount shifter on my 59 rest-mod, but I sure liked staying with the stock appearing PG shifter on my 65!

Mark, when my '55 had a TH350 in it, it used a B&M shifter that had a cable to operate the linkage. It was a simple set up, but did not look very good, as it bolted on the trans tunnel.
