    70 to 77 rocker moldings

Did GM ever produce these without the front mounting tab? Was wondering why all of the repro's do not come with this.
    Thanks

All the service replacement panels from GM from the '80's on came without the tab.

      Jeff

GM removed the tab in about 1974 and sold them as a replacement for years with no tab. I would say only a few owners care about the original tab so the repo was made the cheapest way.

Re: 70 to 77 rocker moldings

Is there any way to tell from the numbering on the GM packaging whether they are replacements or original? The reason I am asking is I have only seen pictures of these No pictures to show tabs or not)and I do not want to pay the high price unless I know. I will e-mail the seller, but wanted to have more questions to ask him. I have a feeling these are replacements.
        Thanks

          Jeff,

The only way I know to get the production style early rocker mouldings for '68 thru '73 cars, is to buy used ones. And finding mint used ones is getting very tough!

Thanks to all for the info. I just saved myself a lot of money because these did not have the tabs. I should have asked you all the question earlier. Well, the quest will continue. If we could only find someone to re-annodize my originals...........

There was/is a member who posted a couple of years ago that he could do these. I suspect his info may be in the Archives, but it would take a little time to search.

Jeff Annobrite out in California can do this also.

Patrick, I tried this site and it would not come up. If anyone out there knows this person or knows if they are still in business please let me know. By the way, the NOS set that I was going to bid on, without the tabs, went last night for $810!!! Can you believe it? Repo's are $350 a set.
                      Thanks for your help.
