    TI Regulator 1116381 1A

    I picked up a TI regulator #'d as 1116381 with a production date of _1/A.
    Can't locate a reference in my chevy parts books, so is it other GM or like the "368" in 1965, ONLY used in production? Thanks.

    I can't find any application for GM #1116381, either passenger car, light duty truck, medium duty truck, or heavy duty truck. However, I can tell you that it existed (you know that since you have one) and that it was a transistor-type regulator. It was once available through the Delco parts system, but I can't find any reference that it was ever available through the GM parts system.

    This leads me to 2 possible theories as to its origins:

    1) It may have been a retrofit type piece, used to convert applications with an electromechanical regulator to transistor. That use would be consistent with Delco parts system-only availability;

    2) Some of these Delco-manufactured transistor regulators were used on light aircraft. So, that's a possible application and that would be a Delco parts system-only availability.
