Nearing the end

It's hard to believe that it's been 18 months since I began the restoration of my 54 (#3598). It's been fun and sometimes frustrating, but an excellent experience overall, one that I would recommend to any of you wrenches out there with a need for a diversion.

The car is nearly done. Only the interior and a few unresolved mechanical issues remain that I'll post later.

But the REAL reason for this post is to thank all who have helped me on the TDB. Without them, it would have been a far more difficult process.

Congratulations and I couldn't agree more!

One of these days (I keep telling myself), I'm going to sort through the pile of printed discussion threads I used when researching head markings, finishes, and assembly tips. If it weren't for the TDB, I'd still be driving around with a residual pressure valve in my master cylinder causing the rear brakes to drag (because it came in the rebuild kit without instructions, of course).
