Finding original calif owner of my 64

I'm finally putting together the owner history of my 1964 Corvette. I have a listing of virtually all owners except the first. It was sold in early 1964 in California and stayed there through the third owner. Will the registry in California give me the name of the original owner? Anyone have the contact information that I need or am I simply SOL?

I tried to get owner info from California on my 66. I had it traced back to a 1973 California registration. Wrote to California and filled out all the right forms. Got a response that the information not available. I believe the records may have bee destroyed.
