    should the trip reset knob be on the left or the right of the steering wheel?

    See UPC Section 12, Sheet C2 of your copy of the AIM. The base car tripometer reset cable installation is called out for LH side installation and clarified in View A.

    NOTE: sometimes various controls were re-routed when a car's configuration changed due to option addition (e.g. A/C, Etc.)....
