    Help with '66 speaker orientation

Can anyone tell me which way to reinstall the speaker on my '66? I didn't do a good job taking photos before I removed the speaker and now I don't know the correct orientation for reinstallation. Is the coil side of the speaker closest to the driver's side?

    Thanks,

    Gary

Re: Help with '66 speaker orientation

    Gary,

Just from memory on a 67, the speaker coil is on the passenger side. I could be wrong for a 66, and 67, but the 67 AIM shows the connector from the speaker connector coming out to the passenger side.

Nice to see you at Palo Alto VA.

        Another opinion; driver's side

        Jerry,

I heard from another person who has restored two '65s and he says the speaker coil one both cars is closest to the driver's side, so I'm going to leave mine that way, since that's consistent with my not so good memory. From a practical viewpoint, I don't think it matters how the speaker goes in since the wires are long enough to connect regardless of which side it's closest to.
